Now, Channel Nine stars Sam Alford and Jodie Byrne have had their happy ending, tying the knot in an idyllic lakeside ceremony in Nowra, New South Wales.
On a summer's day in January Jodie, 30, was a picture of bridal perfection stepping out in a stunning strapless cream wedding dress.

A guitarist played sheet music while the guests mingled in the relaxed atmosphere with Jodie revealing the day was everything they'd dreamed of.
'We wanted it to be a great garden party and it was everything we could have imagined and more,' she said.

After enjoying the beautiful outdoor setting guests headed indoors to the rustic barn for the all important cutting of the cake.
A beautiful tiered cream cake adorned with blooms was just one of the many carefully thought out touches of the day.
Vintages umbrellas for the flower girls, hand drawn signs on wooden boards and glass bottles holding simple flowers, all added to the homemade vibe of the day.

A romantic at heart Sam proposed to Jodie on a piece of driftwood during a Christmas getaway to the Daintree Rainforest in December 2012.
'We sat down on his giant piece of driftwood ... he looked a bit nervous,' Jodie told Yahoo 7 last year.
'I had no idea, I think until he started talking about me being his wife one day. And I was like "are you proposing" and he was like "maybe I am" and then he pulled out the ring and it was real.'
