When is the UK release date for Married At First Sight Australia season 8?

The Married At First Sight Australia season 8 series is hitting Aussie screens on 22 February 2021 on Channel 9, UK fans will have to be a little more patient. After all, we’re still awaiting season 7 to come to Channel 4 this year so we don’t expect season 8 to reach us in Blighty until 2022 at the earliest.

The Married At First Sight Australia season 8 plot

As per the official Channel 4 website, 'MAFS' Australia is about: "Aussie singles get hitched to spouses who they see for the first time on their wedding day."

As you probably know if you’re reading this, the show has a similar concept to the UK version. The singles reveal what they’re looking for in a partner, along with information about themselves and then a panel of relationship experts match them up to someone who they feel would be a suitable.

Once paired up, the couples aren't allowed to meet each other in real life until the day of their wedding, at the altar. Unlike in the UK, the legal restrictions in Australia mean that the couples don’t actually partake in a legally-binding marriage, but rather an unofficial commitment ceremony.

Cameras follow the wedding day reactions and follow the couples as they embark on newly-married life.

The Australian version is set-up as more of a reality TV show and when they return from their honeymoon, they move in with each other AND the other couples from the series.

Cue awkward weekly dinner parties and recurring commitment ceremonies, where the couples choose whether they want to stay in or leave the process. No wonder we are all hooked.
