Actress signs on for LaBute's Broadway play

Julia Stiles is on tap for the Broadway production of “Fat Pig,” which has booked a spring run at the Belasco Theater.

Stiles will star alongside Dane Cook and Josh Hamilton in the Neil LaBute play, which ran Off Broadway in a separate production during the 2004-05 season. The scribe also directs the Main Stem staging, produced by Aldo Scrofani (“Dirty Rotten Scounrels”) and Heather Provost (LaBute’s “Reasons to Be Pretty”).

Stiles, who recently finished up an arc in Showtime skein “Dexter,” appeared on Broadway last season in David Mamet’s “Oleanna.” In the fall she played a legit stint in “Persephone” at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

Storyline of “Fat Pig” centers on a man (Hamilton) who begins a romance with a zaftig woman (a role that remains to be cast). Cook plays the bachelor’s friend with Stiles cast as his ex-girlfriend.
