If anything, getting engaged has given me a rather good excuse to purchase new stationary. Buying the best wedding planner book was top of my list of priorities over the first couple of months (after soaking up all the congratulatory wishes, of course), because when it comes to thinking about my big day I want to alleviate as much stress as possible.

We're not tying the knot until 2025, but I want to enjoy every moment of the process by getting stuck in as early as I can. So, getting myself organised was a non-negotiable. There's lots to consider when planning a wedding, especially if you intend on doing it all yourself, so if a wedding planner book can help to cut a few corners then I'm all here for it.

Searching for said book can be as stressful as thinking about some of the other wedding-related things that you need, though. Read: finding comfortable wedding shoes, googling where to buy your bridesmaid dresses, and sourcing wedding day jewellery that’ll complement your wedding dress. But, fear not, I've found that once you’ve actually made the plunge and chosen your wedding planner journal, the rest will fall into place.

Martha Brook Personalised Wedding Planner And Organiser

The design I opted for is this Personalised Wedding Planner and Organiser from Martha Brook. My verdict? It's perfect. So far I've taken it to every single venue we've visited (three so far, if you were interested), and, aside from the compliments it receives, it has honestly been a life saver. It features prompts before each tabbed section which has helped me in areas I hadn't even considered, it comes with timeline suggestions and a pocket keep safe for any loose bits of paper, plus its a ring binder design so you can easily add your own extras. Thank you, Martha Brook.

You may be one of those uber-organised people that feels a wedding planner notebook would be an unnecessary purchase if you've made it through life without anything similar... but you’d be surprised.

Your bride-to-be notebook is a useful place to jot down on-the-go ideas and thoughts; the name of that bridal gown designer you saw an advert for on Instagram for example, or a clever suggestion one of your friends makes at lunch. The notebook itself will be something to keep and look back at in years to come, too, and likely become as sentimental as that thoughtful mother of the bride gift you have planned.

So, while your trusty 'notes' app on your phone is a godsend for your food shopping list (especially for those tickable bullet points), you deserve to treat yourself to a proper wedding planner book for your special day. After all, good ol’ pen and paper is the most efficient and reliable method in terms of organisation.
